The 1st post office in UkraineThe Polish king, Sigismund III gave the Italian exclusive rights to receive regular royal letters, and he also endowed him with the title, “The Royal Postmaster”. Every Saturday, Lvivers could send and receive letters from all over Europe, but these services were very expensive. In those days, paper was very thick and heavy, so that correspondence weighing only 6 grams and destined to Gdansk, was equal to the daily salary of a qualified craftsman.
